Appreciate your eye in having seen this one, Rebecca.
The contrasting textures and muted colour palette makes for an interesting and soothing visual.
Caveats?
Placement of the hinge seems awkward to my eyes.
Perhaps, a straight-on perspective with a centered composition might work?
And in turn, lose the receding lines/perspective created by the bricks and mortar. Find my eyes moving outside of frame as a result. (Mind you, it is subtle.)
Keep vacillating on whether or not to get closer or, pull back. Still ... undecided.
Handled the technical side of things well. Good exposure, clarity, et al.
For such a simple subject, 'tis a challenging one.
Brought me in for a closer look ... mission accomplished. :o)
What can I say after Les? He is right that it is interesting if you got him to look at it. I found it interesting too. It makes me wonder what it behind the door. There was a song when I was younger entitled "What's Behind the Green Door."
Textures are good Rebecca.

I was thinking you knew what was behind the door after you broke off the lock;)Love the shot! It has a perfect balance in color and texture!

I like this image, the two colors really compliment each other also the detail of the clasp and nail holes are crisp and sharp. An all round very pleasing image to view. Top marks well done.
