They are probably saying: "Are we color blind, or are those hats red?"
A different approach for the contest.

John, I'm not sure whether the lady on the left side of your image is our late Queen Juliana. If so, this image must have been taken a lot of years ago. If not, she must be the lady of a rich Groningen landlord and the resemblance of our former Queen is striking.
The attitude of the ladies and the whole ambiance speak clearly like an image can do only. It tells more words than the contains of a book, so this is an excellent entry for the contest my 'old' friend.
