It is hard to believe they are that oblivious to the dead horse. I wouldn't think it happened every day.
Times were hard and so were the people.

This scene says a lot, quite distressing. Colorization is very good, like the variation of the color on the lamp post. Well done!

Rob, I suppose that in the 'modern world' one can't see such a scene anymore. It's hard to believe the children are that oblivious to the dead horse. The hardship in that time may have them made 'blind' for such a depressing situation.
About the colorization of the original B&W photograph: I suppose that it was a heck of a job, but is done perfectly, so S+F by me instantly.

I agree with Sandi, indeed it is a very sad and upsetting scene. It sure was a hard and difficult time indeed
