The framing makes me think it is hanging in a courthouse somewhere or a perhaps a government building.
The photographer Matthew Brady is the one who took the iconic Lincoln portrait that some say have helped Abe get elected.
After that, he took many Lincoln portraits.
He would be proud of your colorization.

Mr. Brady had a knack with the daguerrotype camera! Charles Edwards Lester had quite a story as well - author, traveler, diplomat.
