It's going to be a big 'un...and I've battened down the hatches and am waiting to see what happens.

You always get such great DOF even in the footprints....the sea, the grasses..another one for the fave files..you make us look as good as we are...so glad you are there sending these marvelous pics from our East Coast..good on you !!

Brilliant photo Mary. I love how you have managed to capture the shadow and the highlighted grass. Great work.

The sky and sea are exceptional. Your use of light and shadows are done perfectly. And, as Kate pointed out the grass and shadows anchor the whole shot. Another well done photo, Mary and into the favs it has traveled.

Another wonderful shot Mary. My wife has a framed print of a beach shot from near here; your image brings back strong memories of Cape Cod.

Wonderful colour and contrast, Mary and I love how the fence leads my eye down to the sea and the breakers. A stunning desktopper, especially as dunes & the seashore are among my favourite images. Beautiful!

Great photo. Looking at that fence makes me think there's been a lot of sand piled up or it was a really short fence. I like the way it breaks photo and leads you to ocean. The angle you chose is awesome. Either go to the water and look or get on sand dune and get better view. Very good Mary.

A wonderful, cold scene. I'm shivering just looking at it. The colours and the lighting are great.

Hi Mary...well, the title of this photo of yours has inspired me to write a poem..I love this posting of yours. I'm not real sure how there is a storm without dark clouds..but I imagine it's just different where you are, than here in ORegon. WE are such opposite sides of the USA, but so many similarities. I love the ripples on the sand. thank you my friend for a good shot...V

I am a coastal freak. The dunes near my home are very similar to these. I love walking there, enjoying the solitude and smelling the sea air.
