A rose from the Lakeside Rose Gardens. Everything is coming up roses at this lovely legacy park in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was so beautiful. There was a wedding taking place when we were there so I had to stay out of the way and my picture taking was somewhat limited.
Just a bit of history that I thought was interesting:
One of Fort Wayne's Legacy Parks, Lakeside Park was designed about 1912 by Adolph Jaenecke. The park's lagoons were created as part of a drainage system to open a former wetland at the confluence of the three rivers for development. Buffalo Bill's Wild West and Congress of Rough Riders of the World, featuring Annie Oakley, came to Lakeside Park in June, 1896.
Handheld with the canon IS USM lens and hot and humid day.
