The only lion at Black Pine, this was a very difficult one to get because of the fencing, and distance between the lion, the fence, and where I had to stand.

Thank you for commenting.

Nice close up, Sandi. His expression is very interesting, he doesn't give a damn about anything. LOL

Be careful, the king is resting, it could be dangerous. LOL

He's got one eye cocked open, so you'd better watch out!

I like this facial portrait Sandi and I would never know there was a fence involved.

Well I will say you did a great job with this photo it like the lion as found the shaded area to rest from the heat of the sun,Love the light in up the lions eyes and the sunlight in front of the lions face and very nice sharp detail as well.

You done well..Best way to get rid of the fencing is to climb over..Getting closer gets really sharp pictures ;).....R.

Love the shot, Sandi. The darkness and color seem unusual... especially with that red mane.

There's so much history in that face and you've captured it wonderfully. The fact that it's through fencing is all the more amazing.

I can understand how difficult it must have been Sandi. Still you did manage to get a good close-up of the lion. He looks sort of tired and not so happy.

Outstanding job on this majestic cat, if you had not mentioned the fence I would not have known you had to shoot through it.
You really captured a lot of detail in this image Sandi.

I like biffobears' (Richie) take on the situation but just the same you better stick to shooting through the fence Sandi. I think you got the king close up enough.

Love the way you caught him with 1 eye a little open watching you. Marvelous shot and really like the gleam in his eye
