A lion taking things in stride at EFRC. This is actually a male lion, he is neutered and Marissa told us that they loose their mane when this is done, something I never knew.

His previous owners must have had that done thinking it would make him a better pet, but he is still a wild animal.

Thank you for commenting.

I like this image very much, SAS. Firstly because the animal presented is full of thoughts and experiences that show in his face like in case of any other ageing creature. Secondly, you made him look so beautiful against well composed background. All of that together makes a portrait filled with emotion. Thanks, Sandi.

I think it wants you to take a thorn from it paw, Tigz.
This photo has much character. Well done.
The numbers give it a prison camp feel.

looks a bit sad when you ask me, once a proud wild animal, now maybe only happy to be in a good place, a well done and very intense picture that way in my opinion...Ro

An interesting story about this lion Sandi. I also didn't know they lose their mane when they get fixed. You captured a very pensive looking view of this fine looking lion and very sharp detail as well.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

A great closeup on the lion Sandi. Nice focus and clarity in the image. They'll have to fit him with a fake mane for vanity purposes.
