The first one I have to share with you from my visit to EFRC. I have been there many times now, and this was the best visit yet.We had a great tour guide, and now have her as a friend on fb, and will request her for now on.

I had a fully charged battery, but I think the cold temps were hard on it, and it was cloudy, so it was difficult shooting through the fencing.

This is a handheld capture of this beautiful cougar, also known as puma, and mountain lion.

We had a total cat experience this time, sometimes the smaller cats are in their shelters, but not this time, and everyone was roaring, chuffing or purring.

I tried something different this time, using the canon 40D with the canon 70-300 IS USM lens I tried some bracketing, this is a three bracket image, that I ran through several programs.

I hope to have another ready to share tomorrow, but if not I will post something else.

I'm happy to see Caedes back up and running again.

Thank you for your comments.

Looks pretty good for shooting through a fence. The kitty kat is a handsome one. Of course I think all cats are handsome. Too bad there aren't domesticated wild cats...I would have one for sure. Nice job with this, Sandi.

That's one "kool kitty." You did an excellent job shooting against the unfavorable meteorological elements. Great image, Tigs!!! Can't wait for your next post.

You did a good job on this kitty Sandi. It is always amazing the captures you get of them and I like the report on the sanctuary as well when you take your adventure there.

Looking at this cat; I wonder what she is thinking. Such a pensive expression on her face. Superb work, Sandi.

I agree that the 70-300 was the best choice for getting through wire..but the hand-held bracketing may have been responsible for the wire dof!...

Still, you manage to shoot a cracker here..they really do look proud animals!

A nice facial close-up here Sandi - the softer tones also work well.
