There is another variety of kale (called - translation from German - green cabbage ) which is used to make a favorite German dish especially in winter months. Nice capture with good colours and clarity Sandi.
I eat kale all the time in salads but they are so interesting in the garden too - of course edible kale is a different variety than ornamental kale. A wonderful warm glow on this Sandi particularly nice on a day like today.
Hey there Mister Madman, wat'cha know that I don't know Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away Tell me what made you that way
I have heard that Kale is one of the healthiest food there is. The last time I looked, Kroger didn't have any. Beautiful shot, Sandi. Outstanding color and clarity.
Very nice close up the detail is lovely and sharp and I lovevthe light plus colours in this photo. And the green part of this Kale is creating some lovely pattens of the top of the Kale too,
Was smiling about Chris (stylo) his comment. Humans beings can eat this too. Very good for the eyes. The proof is the by Chris referred rabbits, as no one has seen a rabbit wearing spectacles.
I was just kidding Sandi. Seriously now: I like and enjoy this very fine image because of its clear and lush colors.

Kale, ornamental cabbage and the like make such great subject matter for photography with all the folds and curls and tonal variations...you caught a nice crisp shot of this one, SAS...very attractive and great shot.
I guess this is an ornamental kale - although it looks good enough to eat ! Lots of great detail in these frills Sandi. I bought some edible kale last week - did not like it at all - I don't care how healthy it is lol
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Is this edible..? LOL Would be a pity to devour such pretty little green thing, but after all I am a vegetarian...:) SAM [SAAB does not approve but would like to mark it his way so he is not allowed to view] LOL
