This is my entry for the SNATM theme this week. I found this copy of the book at a what not shop, and the glasses belonged to my dad. I have this on display on an old secretary desk I found at another used what not shop.

Thanks for your comments. Here is a video of the original movie made in 1946 .

But several more were made over the years. SNATM

Tomorrow I will be busy, so I wanted to post this tonight.

Thanks for your comments.

One of the best SNATM thus far Tigz. I love the dark tones in the photo. It is also a Black Beauty.
So well done. Kudo's and 👍👍.
I think your home display would be a good theme for one of the contests down the road.

I have read that book. Coarse it was long ago. Thanks for the memories! Very nice still life.

Being an avid reader, I admire this immensely. This capture is original, simple but says a lot. Excellent idea and executed brilliantly.

A very artistic, and successful approach of this SNATM-theme (🎥), Sandi.
Think Richie has hit the nail on its head by his comment.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Oh, very creative and original, SAS...great book and movie...I have enjoyed both over the years...and I always like a good still life too, which you also have here...excellent entry for SNATM...I also like Tick's idea of a home display for a possible contest sometime.

A well done composition for a deserving classic book. I remember that exact copy hanging about when I was growing up... my uncle taught me to draw a horse's head after watching me google over the book. Thanks for your very thoughtful post and fine memory :)

[ (added) I noticed that there is plenty of space on the cover. Title and the picture. Not even the author's name; and no publishers quotes endorsing the book. Just the title and a picture to let your mind begin its journey into the story. ]

Emptiness is not nothingness. It is simply the opposite of full of it.
