While visiting my friend Jackie in the U.P we visited https://www.oswaldsbearranch.com/index.php?page=Home, they have over 200 acres, and have given about 40 black bears a safe home, that were rescued.Black bears are hunted in the U.P. so I'm guessing alot of them were rescued as cubs, but other injuries I suppose as well. The males, females and cubs all have their own areas, so a total of 3 large areas. There are viewing platforms but because I'm so short and the fencig so high it was difficult to get decent shots of them but i managed some.

Well despite your being elevation-challenged, Sandi, I think you did a fine job of it. From that snowy face, it appears this bear found a home here some years ago. We traveled the U.P. twenty years ago (love the fudge), and found it quite beautiful, and now that we are both retired I would like to revisit there. I will be sure to put this place on my list.

Its a super capture Sandi. It is difficult for me to imagine a land where bears live in the wild and are hunted. I had to google U.P. :)It is wonderful that these animals are rescued an cared for
