That is the story of the winter of 2014 thus far in the northern Illinois area. Another 4 inches last night and by tomorrow morning it is supposed to be 9 below zero and wind chills of 30-40 below. They are recommending that if you don't need to go out Monday or Tuesday - don't! Believe me I won't.

Kathy, what a difference. Although some friends are thinking that my today's posting was taken in the Fall, it's a recently taken one. When viewed at full screen size one can see that in my part of the world some trees like alder and willow are already blooming. It's the first time that some people got hay fever in the winter time in my area. The severe wintry conditions in your area however are a great contrast. Your wonderful picture shows that clearly. I've still my doubts which situation I prefer, but one has to accept the weather like it comes. Therefore I wish that you may stay safe and warm. Take care!

Here they "promise" temperatures to go as high as -2 degrees C and snow. It has been snowing as I was coming home with Boris.
