I've been scouring my wildflower books and websites but I've been unable to identify this little beauty I found among a group of wildflowers along a fence. At first I thought it was a poppy but the form of the buds is not correct. So if any one knows please let me know - the little beetle is a freebie!

I'm like Sgt Schultz on Hogan's Heroes when it comes to flowers, Kathy. "I know nothing!"
I do know it is a good shot and the lighting is excellent. Even the beetle looks good.

I have no idea what flower this is Kathy. It looks lovely in the sunshine and the color is nice too.

Kathy, this could be a Oenothera speciosa, a species of the pink evening primrose.
Very fine capture of this delicate flower anyhow!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I believe they are Evening Primrose (Oenothera). They are hardy perennials and produce an oil that can have medicinal value.
