The name comes for the two Greek words for love and flower. This is widely known in the UK, I understand, as Lily of the Nile or African Lily. It is not related to lilies at all but is in a singular family of flowers. It develops from a rhizome and originated in southern Africa but now is widely used world wide.

Kathy, witness this photograph I had some Agapanthus plants in my garden. However, they are not winter-resistant. Since it had been a long time since it had frozen or snowed in my area, I made the mistake of not protecting them from the frost. Precisely that winter the weather was freezing. The result was easy to guess.
When I see your beautiful photograph, I realize that I actually miss them. Maybe I'll go buy them again. If so, already with winter protection means, 😜!

I really like the uplifting look of the stems and flowers Kathy.
You and SEA should open a flower shop. It could be international.
After all, Amazon started with books.
Great photo.
