Not a pretty name of a photo but it's true! :) The pic shows mating common frogs. This pond was really crowded, I guess there where over 200 frogs and the sound of them was amazing.

Not only is this a good shot - sharp and clean with crisp colors - it's also a biology lesson! LOL - really it is! Great shot that deserves more attention -

So many pics and so little time can mean just one thing - it must be - tee time

Nice capture. Although a little busy, the frogs are comical. Try vignetting the edges or corners to bring more attention to your subject in the center.

Aye, and there's many more to come, judging by the volume of the eggs in front of these frogs. This pond must also be a great habitat for frog-eating birds with all the groceries available here.

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.

It is easy to make that assumption Nikoneer but the pond is quite deep and the sides are steep. Birds like herons can't access this resource easily (the picture doesn't tell you that). More things that the picture doesn't show is that the frogs only where mating at the north side (that side that has the most sunlight and therefore become warmer earlier) Of course they can be eaten close to land but I have not seen any predatory bird there ever.
This and the fact that there is no fish (as far as I know) make this pond a very good habitat for frogs and their offspring.
