This is the original full size photo of Mt.Hood looming above the city of Portland. As you can tell, you can even see a bit of the Cascade mountain range also. I did a bit of the Clarify tool on the mountain before I cropped it. I decided not to include the tall building because I felt it took away from the Mountain. Please do give me your thoughts.

good grief that is one huge building!! that mountain really looks as if its floating!! i prefer the cropped version but of course this one is interesting to get the whole view! if that makes sense!

Cropping out the building was a good idea. My eyes seem to be drawn more to it, than to the mountain. Still, it's a nice picture.

You should have called Irwin Allen. I like the other photo 10 times better. Good decision Verena.

I like the idea here, Verena. Personally, I think the building is too prominent in the picture. The town scene with the mountain in the background is sufficient.

Fine view and colors, the photo is good despite the view of the building.

You are correct, Verena. The building occupies the stronger position in the frame.

The other has much better composition.

I thought it was Mt St Helens Verena. I like this shot but you're right that the composition in the other is better. You also did the right thing in cropping to portrait size in that one I think. Good to see the whole view though, but the planners in Portland really should hang their heads in shame.

Wow verana, this almost seems ominous. Anywhoo, the picture is really well done in my opinion, mostly because it captures the US bank building and Mt. Hood in one seamless moment. Love it!
