When I was a child we would climb trees, drop the helicopters and watch them whirl to the ground. I never imagined some would still be around in the winter!

I thought these might be what you had in mind from the title, but I wasn't sure. I guess all kids do that. I wonder if they are still viable as seeds. You dof is so very nice here, Hilda. The backlighting on the subject is also really nice.
Yep we have the same thing in GB Hilda
When I was a boy we did the same as you too !! However if you let these thaw out, & dropped them from a height I doubt they'd twirl anymore ....shame. ;o)
Nice clean, sharp looking upload. :o)
Dear Hilda,
In Poland we call them 'little noses' because as kids we used to attach them to our noses using the natural glue in them.
BTW you inspired me to post an image quite similar to this one but regretully far less artistic ... LOL
~ I knew from the title what they were too and was wondering how you found some in winter! Back in NJ we kids would do the same as Marzena...we peeled the top & stuck them on our noses, lol. Very nice winter capture Hilda!
:)
