An Orca whale with a sailboat in the background. It was a very misty day on the ferry between Bellingham, WA and Victoria, Vancouver Island last August. I had no idea what gallery this should go in.
I have a number of pictures of water where an Orca was just a second ago. Congrats on getting this one! And, of course, the sailboat mirrors the fin on the whale!
What a wonderful capture Hilda! The fin of the whale pointing straight up to the sky and the gushes of water around him/her are wonderfully captured. Great timing and shot!
I can't believe you had a sailboat in the background to perfectly mimic the orca's fin! Wonderful capture, Hilda. The softness of the horizon and the color is perfect. Love this as a DT!
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
Wow! I have a backlog of over 50 friends photos, and just happened to peek at this one, such a fantastic shot! I love it! Fav'd it, now back to my school work...lol!
Great capture. The fin looks perfect. If you increase the contrast a bit, increase saturation a touch and use the sharpen feature, the pic looks much better. Throw in a bit of an S shaped tone curve and it helps with the dullness and really enriches the colour.
