This guy was perched outside my back garden. I have found out that it is a sparrowhawk. There is a pair nesting somewhere in the trees behind my house but I haven't located it yet. Don't want to scare them off.

Thanks Paul so much for viewing my Tropical Ship Trip to Grand Turk Island! The weather was superb! the ocean water was crystal clear and a lovely shade of aquamarine mixed with emerald green. Always happy to see your comments, oh yes I got caught in the Bermuda Triangle Vortex Time Warp where a month passed by and it only seemed like a few days. Darn it I'd like to live in Paradise for a very long time but that stupid Time Warp kicked me out and forced me back into reality...ha!

Hi Paul, thanks for all your recent comments and yes the pathway takes you to enlightenment! lol! .....it takes you wherever you want to go really - you can go in a full circle over several hills and it is about 7 miles long which is just about doable for me ...and amazing views all the way.
ps there are a few pubs en route of course but joking apart I very rarely call in them. lol!

I think my boat is sailing out of sight of Princess Cay. One time I was nearly left on the Island of Coco Cay. A dangerous thunderstorm went over the island and everyone was told to return to the ship. I was sitting out of the rain in a comfy tropical hut off the beaten path and was clueless about what was happening, finally we ambled to the tender dock there was no one there but the clean up crew and took the very last tender to the ship. Thanks Matey for your kind comments!

My Tropical parrot is getting his groove on at Jimmy Buffets Margartaville. Thanks Paul for stopping by saying "Hi" to my kooky yellow friend.

Hi Paul
Shoot I was just lazy, you think I could have found a fence still standing. This is not the best part of the country if are into old world ruins and grand villas. Most of the people were so poor they felt lucky to have a flimsy roof over their heads
Thanks for giving my weathered old fence the once over. About the Buddhist Bell of Serenity, I just made that name up, The pool had a Zen feel so I thought hey that would be a good name for the bell.

Cappadoica Turkey..... where vacant cave homes were located in the side of mountains, empty but they still had a plaque outside of each cave with a address number. I walked up and down along the hill looking inside of old abandoned cave homes, when I reached the far side I found some fairy rock and mushrooms formations. The scenery was very beautiful and unusual Some of the caves are now shops selling handmade plates, rugs, bowls and vases to tourists. Most of the cave dwellings were abandoned when the people moved down into the valley and built real houses to live in. Let's just say the rock homes stay cool in the summer and down right frigid in the winter

You described my exact thoughts about Purple Thistles to a tee and did an excellent, detailed, descriptive in-depth write up. Do you write for a living? You expressed what I felt so much better then I could ever put to pen and paper. glad you agree that the "Purple Thistles"
add a little splash of color in the foreground. To me it gives the picture a more gritty realistic look. If it flops I can always return to Plan A rename it and mow down the thistles.
Thanks so much for all your very insightful comments

Thanks for your kind comment about the rustic Old Mill Restaurant
I have never eaten there but I hear it's good, In Peak Season it's standing room only waiting to get in, here is what their website says.

Stoke your appetite with a menu that features hearty Southern classics like country-fried steak, sugar-cured ham, pot roast and gravy, chicken and dumplings and chicken potpie. Scratch-made biscuits, muffins and corn fritters from the bakery are the perfect addition! Dinner specialties are served in generous portions along with our signature corn chowder, salad, fresh vegetables and dessert.

All our fresh vegetables are served in generous portions -family style- complimenting each dinner entrée. Our green beans are slow-cooked to perfection, seasoned country style, and our customers claim they are the best they've ever had! Our famous pecan pies are made from scratch daily at The Old Mill Restaurant using hand selected pecans, fresh eggs and whole milk. These delicious pies will serve eight and are available year round.

It's real southern style down home cookin

Hi Paul hope your holiday was a memorable one. After 9/11 they stopped putting wrapped gifts under the tree because of the safety threat. It has only been recently they have returned. All my best to you for a healthy, happy and wonderful 09!
