I pretty much see the same thing Cindy, though I don't know if that is bread...I thought it was some kind of breaded fish stick that you dip in the sauce and I'm really not sure what that bottom portion of the image is at all...placemats? fabric?...I think we need another hint...or some other guessers to jump in here to help out...where is everybody?...but I'll take a really wild guess and say it's +cc_Beowulf, only because there is a + and _ in his name...could there be any significance to +Samatar saying that Cat (::animaniactoo) can't help us anymore?
Due to the recent slow down of the site, my comments and thank you's have been few as it was very time-consuming...will catch up ASAP...meanwhile, a group thank you to all and keep up the great work everyone.
On closer inspection I think you might be right, Cindy...I think the lower portion of the image is some bras...so, if we could figure out what to call the first two images combined then subtract the letters 'bras' or some variation of those letters maybe? that would be the right answer.

Another thought if I may...I get the feeling that maybe this clue was done this way because the person's name couldn't be visually depicted any other way...like just for example, how would you depict a name like jswgpb...you would have to come up with a word that contained those letters and more letters then subtract some letters.

Oh man...you know, I thought of food and foo foo but didn't figure on what to do with those d's...well, chalk up another one for Randy...wonder where the rest of the guys are in all this???...well, bring on the last one Mr. GTA...* makes mental note to self to keep it simple, stupid *

Now that the names have all been solved
Let's hope more people get involved
And that there are extra takers
To match the pictures to their makers...
The images have been revealed!
(Don't ask for clues. My lips are sealed.)
So is Randy right on all of them?...gee, if I had been allowed to guess here's another thing I woulda' been wrong on...I could have sworn that GTA 03 was either Kodo34 or Trisbert, and I thought GTA 05 was Verena 'cause of that red car hiding behind the trees.

I would like to change my first guess ... kodo has the skills to do that sort of manipulation. I thought it was trisbert at first because of the precision involved.
Me forgotz kodo is a master as well. Manips are not trisberts' usual thang ... if you get where I am coming from.
OK, after going through all the mystery artists galleries, here's my first official attempt:
01 = Kodo34
02 = Verenabloo. Simply because it was the only one left...
03 = Trisbert. I don't think so but none of my other leftovers fit in... gah!
04 = Foofoo. If I'm right, she did a fantastic job with this image. My favorite of the bunch.
05 = Alexis518. Otherwise I think she must be 03.
06 = Cynlee. Pretty sure about this one, just going by similar styles and subjects in her gallery.
07 = Fogz. 'Cos she has a train in her gallery. :-P
08 = Mesmerized. She seems to like frames *shrugs*
Pretty sure I am way off with at least half of these. I'll try again tomorrow.

okay... let's try it this way. I also have to say... if my last pass had 6/8 correct, there's no way Randy coulda ALSO had 6/8 correct based on what I did to increase my score. so um... was there a calculation error?
Whoa, great minds think alike!! I was just getting ready to PM you as the math wasn't coming out right for me either and looking at both are list and each having 6/8 I thought...weird!!
Going in a different direction then ... forget the emulation aspect, although I was sure it had occurred in a past GTA. Even think it was the last one and Phil (aka philcuk) did so to 'throw' us off track.
Wait a sec ... nahh, was going to link to his image in that contest to illustrate my point.
Ok then ... anyway to have the images in the contest all on the first page of that gallery? Still loading a lil' slow on my end and having that one image on the second page is driving me nutz.
Ok, ok ... I was nutz already, however ... a request then pour moi. :o)
Depends how you sort them and how many images you have per page, Les. Unfortuately you can't change the upload date. I presume you are clicking on the GTA 4 gallery, rather than the general "Contest" gallery?
And while I'm at it... here's my second round of guesses:
01 = Kodo34. Still pretty convinced of that... though I realise now it could also be Trisbert. But it does make sense that Cat's score went down when she swapped them.
02=Mesmerized. Of this bunch, she seems to be the one most into manip-type stuff.
03=Foofoo. She is into trees, and close ups...
04=Trisbert. Now this doesn't look like a scene from Sydney to me, but I realised that it could have been taken somewhere else at any time.
05=Fogz. Seems like the right kind of scenery for her area, judgin by other photos in her gallery.
06=Cynlee, for the same reasons as last time...
07=Alexis518. She has a few photos of similar buildings.
08=Verena. Because she's the only one left :-P
Still at it eh, hehe...wish I could guess, but why don't some other members jump in here...even if you didn't participate in the first portion of the game/contest you could still try your luck here...who knows, maybe you'll be the one to get 'em all right.:Pat.

I'd like to see more people participate too. If I was one of the 8 artists who participated, or the person/persons who have spent time creating the riddles, I'd be really disappointed to see basically only 5 people joining in the fun.

Well, it seems there's some artists who have done a good job fooling the guessers...perhaps Les was onto something when he mentioned the emulation aspect?

Yessss, let's unmask 'the devilishly and fiendishly master of misdirection', to borrow from Les's description...ironically, if I may be permitted a guess in this regard, I think it was Les, lol...and congrats to Cat for getting it right...next time maybe I'll be a guesser and I plan to be sharp as a tack !

Thunderous applause for the players of this game
With minds so varied and a task the same
They work together to unravel the task
But never could lift Guesttheartists mask.
Just to wrap this up from my end, I want to thank whoever guesstheartist is for holding this fun game...I appreciate being asked to participate and really enjoyed the whole thing...looking forward to the next time.

Thanks so much GTA- whoever you are!. I'm really glad that I was asked to participate in this contest also. It was so much fun reading the guesses and congratulations Cat for being the winner.
I'm sorry I did not get back earlier with final comments. But, like foofoo, much appreciation to those who took so much time with the organization and then keeping this going. My only wish is that more people had participated, but those who did were enthusiastic and it was a lot of fun for me too, on the guessing end of it.
well - you arent the youngest person here - either physically or mentally - maybe the youngest sheet metal worker but thats about it. this is a (formerly) long dead contest thread.
