"elegant and tidy" rule my world which is by far not elegant and extremely untidy.. Alas, one must have some goals which are like horizon - the imaginary line moving away as one nears it...

Plastic building bricks (no I didn't specifically say "LEGO"), but brightly coloured building blocks are cheap and easy to collect and provide a test to a variety of photographic skills: still life, macro, abstracts.

Seasonal shapes (now in October) can mean trees, leaves, fruits, vegetables etc. that one sees in October and so a large variety to choose from.

I am suggesting "Surprise" capturing any event that depicts a surprise on the part of someone or an animal maybe. This is challenging and actually I don't know how to start with it myself.
