Vanishing Point: the point at which receding parallel lines viewed in perspective appear to converge. I know a number of you have already submitted versions of this style, so it shouldn't be too hard to do it again, maybe something with an unusual character, even humorous. Something different than just the stereotypical railroad vanishing in the distance... Be creative and look for it in nature, in man's creations, in the sky, in your mind... anywhere. This is also something I've often seen done in fractals, so more than just photographers can submit. This style can be emphasized and enhanced by the use of repeating and receding lines or shapes, and the point of perspective doesn't have to be directly in the middle of the image; even the slightest hint of a vanishing point can be interesting and unique. Take a look at the links below to see a few examples:

A vanishing point is at the diminished end of converging lines. I mentioned that one did not have to have the vanishing point directly in the middle of the image, in fact, you don't even have to include the actual point in the final submission. In the case of example number four, the lines on the building are all going downhill and diminishing toward the left, so the vanishing point is out-of-frame far to the left. Confusing, perhaps, but I'm even more confusing in person. 8P

symmetry noun (pl. symmetries) the quality of being made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis: this series has a line of symmetry through its center | a crystal structure with hexagonal symmetry. * correct or pleasing proportion of the parts of a thing: an overall symmetry making the poem pleasant to the ear. * similarity or exact correspondence between different things: a lack of symmetry between men and women | history sometimes exhibits weird symmetries between events. * Physics & Mathematics a law or operation in which a physical property or process has an equivalence in two or more directions.
Symmetry in nature and the human world has always interested me. It's all around us, but the bigger challenge would be to recognize it and realize it was flawed. Take a picture of that. It could be a fenceline broken by a gate, a broken window, or a damaged flower. An even bigger challenge is to make a flaw the center of attention and still have it improve the image. That's my 2 cents.
hell if i could just understand all that, let alone execute it. i think i would be doing this for a living and no need to be on Caedes :) just a thought. then again, i think too much of that thought process was done above.
whats wrong with railroad tracks? i was going to post a set of them, so if i post just one set of tracks is that Monotypical?...ok no tracks :( maybe. hey what about 8tracks?
