Here is another shot from Red Wing, Minnesota. Pictured is the Eisenhower Bridge which crosses the Mississippi River and separates Minnesota and Wisconsin. This shot was taken from Memorial Park More shots here.

I wish I had more time to spend in the beautiful city. Any shots I happened upon were sheer luck and a quick google search. The Mississippi was flooding at the time. It was the absolute wrong time of the day to take this shot. The sun was bearing down from the west (right) and was very intrusive. I didn't have any filters to offset the bright light. I suspect this would be a great place to take shots at the perfect sunset.

I like the overview/angle of this shot Tick. Even with the harsh lighting I still enjoyed studying this image, and checking out the links. Tigz♥ =^..^=

You have to get yer'sel some 'sweeties' (Your word is candies) with the wrappers made of colour cellophane..(See through transparent of all colours)

have some of these in yer pocket...and place them ( one that suits the scene)..over your lens .. these are a quick and easy replacement of a filter!...

Any time of day is a good time for a snap!..and this was one..even if you gasped for breath after this climb!

Really like the angle giving us a marvelous view down towards the Mississippi. Excellent depth and composition, looks if it was a hazy day.

Interesting and inventive comment from Bob. Understand now that he has gotten some problems with his diet, lol!!!!.

Althoug you hadn't a filter available, it's still an very interesting image Tick. The composition is good and I think that the final result was the best possbible one.
One can't have it all Owd Fella!

Five stars for the General and this photo, TicK. I think the Mississippi makes an excellent boundary mark separating the two states. I'm off to Google maps....

That group of people on the hill to the left are amazing to me. I would be afraid of falling all the way down to the road below. It looks like there is nothing there to save them should they have a mishap.

I see the limestone bluffs in this which I sure remember from this area - I like the top down view you got Tick.

Nice shot Tick - shows the "greening in mid America." I think I even see our American Flag in there. You did good with the lighting you had. I like the DDE bridge - we are losing our structures like these; they are being torn down and replaced.

Is there a sign down below warning motorists of falling condiments from the picnic area above? A nice view of the border region, TicK. I never seem to get anywhere when the lighting is optimal either.

It is a beautiful place ... anywhere along the Mississippi River in SE MN is so picturesque. If you did any walking I hope you were wearing your Red Wing Boots. Excellent capture regarding the shooting conditions, Tick. Makes me want to take a fall drive towards Red Wing.
