I was bored by the cold weather and started taking some inside shots in our home. This one sorta stuck out from the rest.

My wife's late mother had a cat, and it kept her company after her husband died many years ago. The cat eventually died and my Mother-In-Law started getting dementia. She was placed in a Nursing Home for her own safety. Her daughters bought her this mechanical cat and she dearly loved it. She lived in the Nursing Home less then a year before she passed away in 2010.

The Captain's Chair and the Lord's Prayer belong to my mother who has been in the Nursing Home for over three years. She will turn 91 in May. It was her idea to go and she is still sharp. She has to use a wheel chair because of back problems, but her mind is sharp as a tack. She is quite witty and the staff at the Nursing Home thinks she is the greatest. So do I.

The tablecloth, draped over the back of the chair, was crocheted by my wife when she was pregnant with out daughter. Our daughter, Bree, will turn 36 in February. She was born on our anniversary and my grandfather's birthday. So as you can plainly see, this chair is full of memories for me. Hope you enjoy it.

Cute Kitty and nice narrative Tick. I remember when You used to keep us informed with Your long narratives whenever You posted. You are so lucky that Your daughter was born on Your anniversary and Your Grandfather's birthday - I think that is very special.

Our most prized possessions are those that are chock full of special memories and this arrangement certainly has an abundance of that for you...something different from you, well set up, and very endearing and enjoyable to view.

A photo that tells a lot of stories Tick. The cat doll looks very good sitting on that chair. There are many things that bring back lots of memories and sentiments in most homes. Good shot and a nice narrative Tick.

You've taken a precious moment and shared it with the rest of us through your picture and narrative. If it wasn't for the eyes of the kitty it almost looks real. Thanks for sharing Tick.

Now I have read your narrative, this 'still life' was 'talking' to me Tick. Lots of (fond) memories in this chair. The 'cat' has stolen my heart. A cute one and it never complains about an empty stomach.
I love this post Owd Fella!

Well, happy birthdays to your daughter and belatedly to your grandfather in February. My daughter will also be 37 this year. I can still remember Becky and I sitting on the couch and timing the contractions before heading off to the hospital for her delivery. Tick, where does the time go.

I love the chair and the memories it was part of. It must also be great to have your mom nearby. There are always questions that only a mom can answer for you.
