Every thing you read in the Newspaper.

This is still as true today as it was following the 1948 Presidential Election in the USA. I took this photo last year at the The Elms Hotel and Spa in Excelsior Springs, MO. This is where Truman spent Election Night. I was attending some training concerning my job and we were entertained by this Truman impersonator.

I will upload a photo of the Spa soon. I intentionally blurred out the sign in the background so you would try to read it. You can follow the links if you want to read more about this Historic event.

I like to copy Sandi's words above Owd Fella Tick (OFT)!

PS: thanks for the links, I've enjoyed in particular the news paper article 'Charles Van Houten and his daughter, Evelyn, visiting the Truman library from San Antonio, Texas, got to join Niel Johnson in one of Truman's most famous poses.'

US politics is so different from Europe and it's difficult for many Europeans to comprehend and they sometimes fail to reveal it Tic.

Europe had a brave new world after WW2 which bought socialism and the welfare state. America had McCarthyism, black lists and the execution of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, may the unfortunate Jewish couple rest in peace.

Okay Tic I'll stop there, a very good presentation btw. 👀

Yea, the Tribune never really lived that one down - it's not my paper of choice in this area for many reasons and politics is one of them. Excellent capture and a great one for the BWC Tick.

An iconic image in the process of being recreated here, Tick. I trust this actor used the colorful language for which HST was known! :-)

You captured a good one here.

You got him good, Tick. At first, I thought you were presenting a photo of a historical image. This has got that old time look in BW. Well done.
