I'm drawn to old barns like a golf ball to water or sand. The Missus and I were riding around last fall and found this beauty. We were looking for the old Homestead of Jess & Nellie, my Uncle & Aunt. Come to find out, there is nothing remaining of their place but an old shed. I decided this would have to do. I combined their names for the title.

I'm a big fan of barns, even though I rarely share any, this is a good one Tick! Sorry to hear there was not much left of your Uncle's place.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), I agree with more than 100% about Richie's comment. Loads of character in this image indeed. If this barn would get extensive maintenance, it would lost it's scenic/photographic attractiveness. Love the contrasting colors in this image too.
Conclusion: a very good and attractive image!

You have your 'Old barns' and we have out old stone buildings...they all make good photography, as this one does!

Nicely done.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

We have a lot of those old barns around here. I get to as many as I can cause I love old barns too. I'm surprised they have lasted as long as they have. This is a nice example. Fine shot.

I've always enjoyed old barn shots and here in the Midwest there's plenty - this is excellent with the curving road to lead in.

I like the lines in this composition - the road leads the eye to the barn; good rule of thirds usage here, too. Well done, my friend.

A shame the old homestead is gone but what remains is a very appealing rural scene and well composed.
