Our Hummingbird trellis for a Clematis vine, shows the effect of the last ice storm. The frame is a shot of our Spirea Bush that was heavily covered with ice. The ice has since melted, but six inches of snow last night makes me believe the Clematis will not be blooming anytime soon.

6 Inches?....I have never liked snow...even as a kid...Been kinda lucky these past few years as we haven't had a great deal...But before that...18 inches was the norm then...

Hope 'Clemmy' gets over it, and 'Springs' into bloom soonest!...

Very good shot to explain and show what we're going through in the Midwest - we only had an inch of snow last night but we are having freezing rain this morning - I'll take the snow.

Other than some very brief snow and a lot of rain, we have had a pretty mild winter here in Kentucky. My family and friends in Ohio have had it much worse. Your Hummingbird is quite the survivalist, sort of a "Miracle on Ice!"

Unique capture, but you are probably right about the bush blooming. Might be a long wait. Great capture!

I can see the heavy ice on the branches as well, I think our spring is coming later than earlier, but I hope I'm wrong. tigs=^..^=

It makes a lovely picture - nice work :)
Hope everyone stays warm and safe.
We have had a heatwave with temps around 30 degrees C but Cyclone Oma is on its way and we can expect snow !.
Don't worry your clematis will spring forth they are very hardy.:)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

A 'frozen' or 'cool' (meant literally) capture, Owd Fella Tick (OFT). So it's not necessary to ask the hummingbird to stand still for an optimal photographic result, as it's even incapable to shiver from the cold, 😁 .
When compared with the actual weather situation in my area: what a difference in temperature, because we have 16°C or 60.8°F in now, with the result that the daffodils in my garden are in full bloom now.

A very creative presentation, Tick...I like how the humming bird isolates the snow beyond and the surrounding icy branches, which when viewed full-screen, are well detailed and complete this winter picture...well done!
