The Spirit of St. Louis.

Another mural from the town of Louisiana, Missouri. At the time I didn't realize there were so many murals in the town so I didn't get a photo of all of them. I will have to return one day and get them all. This is the second one I have posted from Louisiana. You can see the first one here. Lucky Lindbergh was on the former Wells Lamont Glove Factory building which was next to the railway. The railway is between the building and the river.

Ashburn, Mo is a small inactive village 15.8 miles north of Louisiana. According to the 2010 census, the population was 52. Evidently I drove through this village on my way to Louisiana and didn't realize when I was there. Alex-Stelios Willis was the artist and you can read more about it here. If you can open the link you will be able to see more of the murals in this little town on the Mississippi River.

Thanks to SEA's comment, I will add this to SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES with the subtitle The Spirit of St. Louis.

Excellent job, Tick. I love murals, they make the buildings vivid, beautiful. Somehow, they give them life.

I thought it was a double garage door painting at first...Really if cool if it is that!

The artist is really good at this...I like the way it depicts the WW1 flying team.

Wow, $5 for a ride with Lucky Lindy, if I lived back then, I would have saved up all summer for a chance at that ride. I was fortunate in my life to have ridden in the Red Barron bi-wing back in the '80's. It was a thrill of a lifetime! Tick, excellent picture and I hope you make it back to Louisiana some time soon!

I think as mentioned if you can create something such as this that pumps up civic pride that makes a huge difference in the community.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), this is a very fine mural depicting an event in 1925. Two years later (so 1927) Charles Lindbergh has crossed the Atlantic Ocean (from New York to Paris).
Winston Churchill characterized Lindbergh as: "All that a man should say, all that a man should do and all that a man should be."
Think it would be a fine contribution for the SNATM-theme (🎥) as well because the representation of the Billy Wilder 1957 film The Spirit of St. Louis.
S+F. Thanks, 👍 !
