The rule of thirds went by the wayside on this photo. Shoal Creek is seen winding through the fields below and the crops are waiting to be harvested. We had our first snowfall last night, so it will be a few days before the harvest begins. My daughter has borrowed my good camera and lens, so I was left with my Nikon Coolpix S9500. I guess this is better then no photo at all.

Amazing still life here Ron,But I think (IMHO) It's a bit pity the wired fence with barbed wires with the pole's down under.

Sometimes the Rule of Thirds, the "no telephone poles and wires," and the "no fencing" rules get in the way of a good picture. This picture is not only a case in point it is an exception to those rules of thumb and is a darn good pic too. I think that golfer in the lower right would agree with me.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), if I enlarge this, in itself very beautiful, Fall capture to a larger size than a full screen size one, I see some blur. The use of your Nikon Coolpix S9500 instead of your usual lens could be the reason for that. Every disadvantage has its advantage however: the small blur isn't disturbing, it's on the contrary as it creates a picturesque/scenic effect, very appropriate for this season.
BTW, I hate the 'Rule of Thirds', 😜 , because it's almost interpreted as a dogma, instead of an advice. Very appropriate to kill the artistic freedom of the photographer. It seems that a lot of people has forgotten that a photograph can be even finer without using it, rather than by using it.
