The traffic in my area came to a sliding stop over the weekend because of an ice storm. If this had been a metropolitan area, there wouldn't have been any traffic. However, when you live where most everyone drives a 4 Wheel vehicle, then weather like this becomes a challenge. Especially for the young and adventuresome. Need I say Redneck Country!

It's beginning to thaw today, so I ventured out for a few shots. Pictured is an old bridge on a gravel road that was extremely slick. I managed to stay upright while I snapped this wintry shot of the bridge railing and the icy scene beyond. My neck might have been a little red, or at the least somewhat pinkish.

Ice is the worse of winter. It may be beautiful, but it is so dangerous. I welcome winters where snow is at a minimum and ice is in the fridge. That said, I am glad you stayed upright and captured this photo, my friend.

Real winter scene, I can almost feel the cold air. Great capture, Tick.

I can say that your risky adventure over the slippery grounds was worthwhile when I look at this scene Tick. It makes me shiver just by looking at it. We are lucky (or unlucky?-global warming) that we are having a very mild winter with temp.s 35-45 F

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), on the one hand I like to say that I admire your courage to go out for a photo shoot in these tricky wint'ry conditions. On the other hand, I must say that your perseverance has resulted in a very fine image. Thanks for that, 👍!

Love all the gnarled branches along the icy bridge - we've had freezing drizzle today so not fun.
