One of the things I have been doing during the Covid-19 lock down, is scanning old 35mm photos so I can save them in a digital format. Pictured is the Whistle Stop Cafe that was featured in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes.. It is one of my favorite movies.

My wife and I took a vacation to Georgia in 1994 and decided to check out the filming location in Juliette, Georgia. Unfortunately the cafe was closed the day we were there. You can see some shots of the filming location here.

The photo was taken with a Canon Rebel 35mm camera. I sent the scanned photo (along with some others) to Jethro (E.J) and he worked some Topaz Magic on them. This was enlarged 6X with Topaz Gigapixel and then enhanced with Topaz AI Clear to remove some noise and other imperfections. Thanks Jethro.

I used the Photojournalism gallery since it is like an article I would do for the newspaper. I would use more information instead of links in an actual newspaper article. It is also my contribution to SNATM

Very interesting to see the changes in the scene Tick and also those from the movie. Those scenes bring one (even non U.S. citizens like me) back to the days of the old movies.

I don't think you could ask for anything more than "Fine Food At Fair Prices!"

I did not see this movie but if you liked it, I bet it is very good.

The Whistle Stop Cafe looks like a cool place to pop the cap off a nickel coke and talk about fishing for awhile with you buddies.

That was one of the best in my opinion too. They don't show that enough in their rerun series. Thanks for giving us something that was fun to think about. Nice photo also.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), I haven't seen this movie. Not surprising in itself. In my long maritime career, there was hardly any opportunity for that. Certainly not at sea and once home there were other priorities, 😁 . However, the trailer is a good tool to get a good impression of this film. Therefore, I can say that this post is a good contribution for the SNATM-theme (🎥).
The help of E.J. was essential in this.
Good job from both of you, 👍!

I guess the one thing I remember about the movie is the ToWanda Scene. A good image and credit go for the edit of it. Good job Tick and E.J..

Excellent work on these older photos - a cute store - even if this was a newer version in full I see to walkers and they are keeping their distance apart
