Snowbarger is the name of the family that owns this bottom ground and I found it apropos for the scene and title. We received a skiff of snow that partially covered the ground Sunday night, and it made for a perfect photo op. This most likely will be my entry for the current contest. The fall harvest has been completed, made evident by the lines in the field. The leaves are changing colors; another indication of autumn. I left a sliver of green grass on the edge of the field to show the last remnants of summer. There is also a small tree in the grass that blends so well into the background, it is difficult to see. The snow shows the air has chilled which is another indicator of fall. Yes, fall has arrived.

You caused me to Google "skiff" and learn a new word. Here is what I found, "The noun "skiff " is drawn from the Scots verb "to skiff," meaning "to move lightly and quickly, barely touching the surface." Seeing the snow lightly touching the ground and avoiding contact with the trees seems to me to be a "skiff of snow" for sure. Like Sandi, no snow here yet (never would be nice).

Wow Ron, this is a captivating scene of intersecting seasons one saying goodbye, the other saying hello, I'm here!!! You have a great eye for nature's beauty:)

"Nature's Art" in front and the signs of fall behind - well taken and a very interesting photo Tick. Good luck with this one.

The textures of this scene are remarkable, the contrast of the seasons, excellent idea to capture this, and John, once again, provides us with info that adds to the viewing.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), this remarkable situation is unique to me. In my small country there is usually little snow. If we are 'treated' with snowfall, then the leaves of the trees have already (largely) disappeared.
I agree that the rare and well-photographed ingredients for your photograph would make it an excellent entry to the current contest.
But the choice is yours. If you decide in this way, I wish you the best of luck with it!

That made a very interesting landscape with that dusting of snow on the ground. The textures came through nicely. Good one and good luck in the contest, Tick.

An interesting dichotomy between the snow and the fall foliage Tick - the light snow really sets off the plow lines - Great Capture and Good Luck in the current contest!!!

Yes, that old stuff did come down and you captured a great angle on it. I like the rows and rows where corn must have grown. Great capture.
