The GeoLine demonstrates geological features which can be experienced best in-situ. On 32 points, it gives an impression of the great diversity of geological processes which have led to the formation of rocks and have moulded the landscapes. Folded beds and fault structures are visible along the path through the Noth gorge, which has been declared monument of nature. They let us estimate the gigantic forces which have piled up the Alps. At the surface, the running water of the river Salza has forced the stream to cut deeply into the rocks. Stream regulations, coal mining and agricultural land-use demonstrate the close relationship between man and geological processes.

Great shot. What is the purpose of those bridge like structures? Are they some kind of cross way?

Excellent commentary on a really excellent site and accompanying excellent photo. This is really interesting, Sabine. The forces of nature are awesome subjects to study.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Just great Sabine. Both photo and narrative. It's nice to know that some governments are working hard to keep the grandeur of nature intact. Beautiful photo and I'm glad you used walkway/bridge that was in last photo to take shot. Very good. Put it in faves.

I was inquisitive about the pipes running across every now and again - are they filters do you think? I am enjoying looking at your walk through this park and we are having a very good geography lesson too! :)
