Bruce, I remember milkweed pods but I don't remember ever eating one! You have a great title and a great picture. Kinda also reminds me of the movie, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers." Hope it's okay to take a quick nap. ;)
Bruce, whether they were eaten or smoked (Tick), in my country we're unknown about these habits. Because I'm pretty curious (😜), I searched for more information, and have found this: "Milkweed is toxic and may cause death when animals consume large quantities of the plant. Milkweed also causes mild dermatitis in some who come in contact with it. Nonetheless, it can be made edible if properly processed." I'm glad you've survived its consumption. I won't dwell on it if that wouldn't have been the case, Buddy!
