Fascinating view of this community in northern Canada, Jeff...and with the focus on the igloo cathedral this would make a super entry in our current contest...great capture.
Awesome image John! Not the usual shot which is good for this! Is it the one in the center? Otherwise I'm looking for Waldo LOL:):) Good luck in the contest buddy!
Now that is quite a photo of an urban scene most of us will never see, different layers of prefab construction looking like earth stratagraphics. My geologist friends would love this! I checked up on Nunavut and the transportation there... taxis, car rentals, water taxis, snowmobiles, and dogsleds, airplanes and umiaks, and, like here in North Dakota, driving on ice when it gets cold enough. I do see a number of cars and pickup trucks in the upper range of your photo, John, so there has to be some roads there. My research indicated there's only one that is paved and there are no stoplights... rather interesting for a city of 7,740 population. So, considering the unique character and dominant position of that cathedral, if you're not entering this one in the current contest, you should consider so.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
