I got this shot out of many I took out back while doing some tests with settings on the Canon 28-135mm lens,(not a new lens) and stuff like that. I applied a little HDR to it, too.
Jimbob - It looks like it may be raining corn dogs soon! The balance of corn and clouds is good. I am finding the fence to be an issue, perhaps expecting that there should be more of it in the photo, keeping in the rule of thirds used for the corn/clouds. The colors were treated well in post-photo, darker as is the weather, yet indirect light offering bright spots in the clouds and corn. Thad
I like watching it, but I am not brave enough to enter there. That happened a few times, I just picked some corn from the first row. LOL I prefer when it's green. So again, spring and summer, not fall.
I'd say the amount of HDR was spot-on Jim. You've got some lovely textures on the fence and cornstalks, plus a nice bit of drama in the sky. The colours on the corn are really zingy too.
“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”
I see green leaves on some of those stocks. Ours are all browned out. I like the coloring contrasts running vertically up the page. The details are great - per normal. Like Thad, I too wondered about the fence, but I kinda liked it. It seems to be to be a starting point, a way to get in there and harvest the crop. It also, again for me, gives me an imaginary diagonal line; fence-corn-sky.
Stupendous Jim!!! I really don't think it needed the HDR cause the quality looks wonderful! I'd like to see it without the HDR to see the difference. Superb work!

Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick.
