I just followed you link and found out that it was built in 1847 but not operational until 1866. I really like this picture and can imagine, back in 1866, horsemen riding along that road by the river.

Excellent perspective on this one, Jimbob. Love these old mills and other antique structures that you post from time to time. Nothing seems to have been in California except the Spanish Mission before about 1900. Fine detail work and excellent colors. Sure would love to take my dog for a stroll along that trail.

Did they ship all the jobs to China? is that why the old mill is closed down...joking. This is an excellent restoration of the Mill and fine example showing life in past times.
fine capture of the old ways JB!

Have checked out the link, Jimbob. Very interesting. Saw a thumnail identical to the image you've posted yesterday (The Lock #44 sign).
Love this compostion as well, because it's a very good one.
Promising for the other images in this series to come!

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun

The only Ludwig I ever knew was Ludwig Von Drake. This makes me wish you had a wide angle lens and had included the bridge and the canal. You have succeeded in getting me to want to see more of the area, so that makes it a good post JimboB.

Jim, I really enjoy this type of image, reminds me of days gone by, and the one I go to around here, is still a working mill. Once again you have nailed the presentation. Tigs♥ =^..^=
