This is the General Store, that is next to the Ludwig Mill. The sign there, is an explanation on how the Wicket Gate on the lock works. CLICK HERE to see a closer picture of the sign. Move the cursor over the shot, then zoom in, if you would like to read how it works.

Jimbob, really hope that the sign is not necessary to give the lock keeper instructions how to operate the lock, lol.

Thanks for another very fine image in this series and a good accompanying explanation. Well done, mate.

Regards, Cornelius.

I love all the different textures and lines in this image Jim - the foliage of the tree's and grass, grain of the woods, and then the eye following the lines of the path, wooden building and bridge. You have captured so much in this. Well done!

Hey, Jimbob....

I didn't read any of the comments above; so maybe I'm repeating what has already been stated, but here goes.

This posting is my favorite of the lot. Frank and Helga aren't in the shot, but the post photo work on this one is brilliant. I thought that the previous postings were almost photo-journalistic. This one has the feel of a fantasy water color painting. I'm not sure what you did or how you did it, but it exudes a special something that I can't identify exactly. Years ago I used to really enjoy the images of the quaint English thatched roof cottages that Bruce posted. He had a very identifiable style that I really enjoyed. This posting is reminiscent of those. I don't know if you know who Bruce was or remember his shots, but I thought they were very special. If you hated those postings, then you're insulted. If you liked Bruce's images of the old churches with cemeteries and the thatched roofed cottages, then you feel complimented. To me, this is one of the best I've seen in a very long time.
