What a lovely shot, Jim...lots of detail and texture to enjoy in the wood, feathers, and floating leaf...also like all the varying shades of brown, even the water...they look like two very contented gals...all very peaceful and pleasing to the eye...good work.

In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art. ~Rumi~

The two female mallards must be reflecting on the days of summer that have come & gone or perhaps they are looking forward to the colors of autumn. Whichever it is ... it's a wonderful capture, Jim. Love the feather details. Very well done.

Oh, they are so cute. It looks as if they are talking something very important and interesting. No, they don't talk to each other. Old couple? LOL Nice perspective and great shot, Jim.

What happened to the ducks on the first post of two on a log...did they get bumped off? wonderful overhead view looking down upon the ducks, their feather pattern stands out so well plus I like all the texture and ridges of the log they are sitting on.

How do you always manage to capture these crystal clear shots? These quackers seem perfectly in sync with each other. The muted shades coupled with the occasional pop of color peeking out from under the wing, the bill on the second duck and the leaves have really made this an interesting composition. You have quite a good eye for subject matter. Thank you...Vanda

Jimbob - Nicely done! Great diagonal lines in the image - log and shadow juxtaposed to those of the two ducks. Thad

Just ducky JimboB. Lighting and textures right on. I like how you seem to be hovering over them. Nothing more peaceful then a duck at rest.

Really great color and detail in these lovely ladies Jim. The brown color is almost the same as the log they are roosting on.

Great composition with the diagonal and the monochromes work well.

Hey, Jimbob....

Although I never got to see it, I'm sure I would have liked your first and deleted version even more because as we all know the grass is always greener on the other side.

The clarity on your bird and zoo animal shots always intrigues me. The lines and details are so clearly defined. I see nothing to critique on this posting. The composition is outstanding with the diagonal log as the centerpiece. I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but this picture proves beyond a reasonable doubt that all female species are quite ugly and plain in comparison to the males.
