I bet Raj and Mr. C. know all about this tanker. I won't go into an explanation here. This was taken last summer off the coast of Delaware, USA.

Good capture...I can see both Raj and MrC standing at the helm on this, telling folks which way to go.

Have they been doing their Master's duties on this boat ?
I know almost all about ships but this particular does not mean anything specific - meaning I have not made any cruise on her...
Otherwise beauty of lady of the seas.
I will be back to check our true seamen's comments as I am dying of curiosity !!!!!!!

I would explain all about it JimboB, but I am a little tanked at the moment. I will leave the particulars to our resident Captains.
I will say it is color coordinated with the water and sky. :)

She is not a big size tanker Jimbob. So I would say that she is bound for a terminal near Wilmington. Nice capture especially with that sky behind.

In additon to what Raj already has said, I like to provide you with some other (probably for people without a maritime background less interesting) information:

Depicted is a tanker of the so called 'Handy Pool'. It's the double hull MT (Motor Tanker) 'Mount Kibo' of the UPT shipping company.

UPT is an in Hamburg (Germany) based company for providing commercial and pool management services to the tanker shipping industry. UPT has offices in Stamford, CT/USA and Limassol/Cyprus.The UPT activities include the commercial management of product tankers and the operation of the UPT 'Handy-' and 'Panamax-pool'.

The 'Mount Kibo' is sailing under the Liberian flag, is built in 2010. The LOA (length overall) is 184.32 meters. The beam is 27.43 meters. The Suez Tonnage (net) is 20,844 while the Panama Tonnage (net) is 19,420 (tons).

Still awake Jimbob and friends? LOL.

Regards, Cornelius.

Jim, I bet Cornelius and Raj know the name of the ship's cat but they don't want to overload us with detail. Great sea image indeed.

Thanks Mr. C for the very interesting info. Raj, I noticed that the tanker was smaller than the ones I saw on the internet when I Googled UPT. Also, thanks to Agent Ms. Capt. SAM for your interest. LOL.
