She appears to be nicely restored and well maintained. With that red hull, she's easy to spot on the open seas. Good one, Jimbob.

Lovely shot of the light vessel here Jimbob. I have read the details on the link. Here too all light vessels were replaced with modern buoys many years ago. The new buoys are more economical to maintain (no crew required) and are equipped with racon etc.and serve the purpose just as well.

Smooth seas do not make skilful sailors.
Although they've sailed (it's better to speak of 'station keeping') on a two weeks on/one week off basis, the life for the 14 crew members must have been boring.
