I like the darkness, it creates nice atmosphere. I suppose the sky was cloudy and there were only a few spots where the sun could operate. Great depth... looking at this outstanding image and having in mind a few others I must admit Scotland is one of the most picturesque places on earth.

Wow, Mick. This is a study in lighting if there ever was one. It's gorgeous. I find myself staring at it for long periods of time. It is so peaceful. There is much to look at. I love the way those white horse show up and the sligh bits of lighting in the rocks. This is a masterpiece. I wish you would do more posting. You don't post all that much and your work is marvelous. Hope I see this in the voting booth.

This reminds me of a good quality 18th century landscape! Just looked in your Gallery - there are some wonderful studies there - I can't just call them "Photos" - I have a box full these from Scotland, but I would not presume to post any of them! You do know how to frame - the gift that many of us do not posses!

Ditto -- what everyone else said. Looking at this photo makes me feel like I'm crawling into a storybook. It does seem a little dark, but I agree that it adds to the mood and when I consider what it would be like lighter, I'm not sure I'd like it as well. It would definitely lose its drama. Very intriguing.

Photography literally means 'to draw a picture with light'. That is exactly what you have done here with this beautifully charged photograph. It is a dark exposure, but that fact just makes the whole mood of the landscape more atmospheric.

Beautiful landscape image. It would be cool if you could photoshop some horns on the horses to make them unicorns. Very nice capture.

Would you be so kind Sir as to give me a swift kick ... you know where? The last image I saw of yours was "Golden Bales" which wound up in my favorites. Saw this in the gallery and came right here. This ones going to follow the other into my favorites as well. After checking your Gallery I see how many magnificient pictures I've missed in between because I was forgetful in not putting you on my friends list after "Golden Bales". I'll correct that dunderhead oversight immediately. In the meantime feel free to put on a steel tipped boot and have a go at me.
