The natural light really rocks those stairs. What's up there is not for the faint of heart... It's an old lady in a rocking chair, moaning. And rocking. And moaning. All you can see is the back of her... and then you step closer
Looks like there's a lot of potential in this old house.I really like those stairs and they look good basking in the light coming through the window. Nice use of the lighting, Marsha.
something very.. poetic about this picture. the texture on the walls, the light through the dirty window, the dead plant - it all come together and creates a very isolated, yet light feeling (to me). mellow somehow.. superb entry!
An outstanding shot. I really like the flow in your composition. With the stairs 'leading the way' one's eyes are lead through the entire picture. I think you have a great variety of color tones and textures. This is enhanced by the light coming in through the window. A interesting and mysterious render my Friend.
Now that's a Staircase, Marsha! I can see the Leprosy has made its Way to the Wallpaper, Here... Great lighting, and the Weed in the Jar is Priceless!!
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Aren't you the daring soul?!...lol...This reminds me of my sister and brother in laws house that they lived in in the 70's. It was a mansion with 8 bedrooms!!! The one staircase looked like this before they got to work on it. The other staircase was pretty good! Cool shot but really spooky girl!!!!
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

A simple and elegant capture of times past. If the stairwell could speak we'd hear the fast patter of children and the slow creak of the elderly on these steps. The debris, peeling paint, grimy shadows, inexact construction, and the addition of the jar and branch create a complete story. It's up to us to fill in the words. As Nana says, this IS art.
