About 80 American cars rumbled into my town yesterday for a Car Show to be held over four days.
Last evening they drove in convoy through the town and out into the country, and luckily my street was on the route.
With Canon 450D set to Auto Sports I captured them as they drove past. Not much time to set up shots, it was just a case of click, click, click. Lots of waves from the occupants and lots of horn tooting as they passed by in about 5 minutes : )
I hope some of you will enjoy seeing them. I have quite a few more to sort through. Comments very welcome,as always.

Definitely American cars... except for those license plates. Here each state has a different plate and some states have more than one. Between the cars and the plates there's a lot of variety on the road. Nice captures, Lyn. It reminds me of a July 4th parade here in my hometown and also that my dad (many years ago) owned at least five of these (one at a time). I remember the "Tri-5" in the upper left, in particular... my dad climbing in after a visit to our house (divorced when I was 7 mo.) and his head rocking backward when he started it up. I had gotten in there first and pushed every button and turned every knob I could, including the radio; turned on and the volume set to the highest it could go. (Luckily I knew enough about cars as a kid to know you didn't mess with the shift lever... otherwise my dad would have REALLY been P.O.'d at me.) That always came back to me when, years later, my head would slam into the head rest after one of my sons used my car. A rite of childhood to do this to your parents and their car and a rite of young adulthood to fall in love with cars with style. They don't make them like these any more.

Wonderful collage Lyn - I remember many of these especially that beautiful bronze Chevy in the upper left. We had one like it in bright turquoise.
