The New Zealand Winter Solstice was on Wednesday 21st June at 4.24pm.
This was captured 20 minutes later at 4.44pm with Panasonic TZ60, from my garden, and is the view I see from my front door every day in all its different moods and hues. I had driven home from work with the car lights on - mid winter indeed!
Now that our shortest day is past we can look forward to gradually decreasing hours of darkness.
"There is a grandeur in winter, stern and wild it may be, but a grandeur which speaks to the soul." ~C.J. Peterson
