I thought the spur of sunlit rock sticking up looked a bit like a very large tortoise nose as the tortoise surfaced.

Yeah it does to me too, great shot with the light highlighting the rock and awesome water. I bet you used that tripod of yours.

A gorgeous contrast of light and shadow, color, and motion. An excellent display of the fluidity of nature and the stability of geology in the same scene. It may first appear as a simple scene but there's a heckuva lot more going on here than a first glance will tell... hopefully everyone who views it will take the time to study it. If not, it's their lost opportunity. Personally, I'm going to snag a copy for the "water" screensaver I've created for my Macs, featuring the best water photos I've seen over the past 5 years. A 10 from me in the booth. Keep 'em coming.
