NOTICE: THIS IMAGE IS NOT TO BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE. I sat on my front porch one morning with my Canon 100-400mm waiting for birds to land in the yard. I bagged this Blue Jay just as he popped a nut into his mouth. It will never happen again!

Wonderful shot, Momma! It's difficult to capture them, they're always bouncing around.

If there are more nuts lying on the ground then it will happen again but you have to sit all day with the camera LOL! Nice and sharp shot of the bird Pat.

NEVER say 'never'! Who knows. So many things can be seen just from the comfort of your own porch swing, especially when you have a camera nearby to capture the moment and this is one of those Kodak/Canon moments.

Very unique indeed.. great shot..
such clear colors
that's what is so nice about photography.. shots like this one.. once in a lifetime .. cos never will you be able to take exactly the same shot as you did here, and you never realise is when you "push the button" but only when you see the surprise afterwards.

Well done

Good for you! That is one of my common weekend morning pastimes and as easy as it would seem, with all the feeders and bird baths, etc. it is incredibly frustrating to get that perfect shot! I am learning a whole new level of patience - thanks for sharing this - it shows with enough patience and luck I may get a great shot yet! You got a bulls-eye here! :)
