This pontoon bridge is about 3 miles from my house. I cross over it quite frequently. It raises for boat traffic to pass under. I can't remember the last time a boat came thru here. It's been so long since it was raised I think it would fall apart in a cloud of rust. I like driving over it for the fun of it.

You like to hear the boards clatter.Reminds you off a pump action shotgun..The last time that was raised,Was when Mark Twain wrote Huckleberry Finn...You must remember the Paddle Steamer coming through...Lovely picture by the way...R.

Really thought that it was a rigid and solid state bridge until your narrative did make me doubt, Momma, lol.
Very nice capture, Pat.

I was imagining how the settlers used a large raft with horses on both side steadying it as they pulled it across the river Owd Momma. That would have been a sight to see.
This one is a sight to see as well. All the beautiful and unusual things we all have close to up to photograph is amazing.
Fine post.

It will hold as long as there are no heavy trucks passing over it. If you have a truck ahead of you wait till he has crossed over first. Nice greenery all around.

Your composition is perfect, and I like this kind of image, brings us something to neat to look at, and I would not mind driving over it either, I'm a fan of bridges, the more unique and the older they are the better. Tigs♥ =^..^=

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Such a neat looking bridge. I am sure it is fun to ride over. Does it make a humming noise when you do? Hopefully it won't rust so much that you can't get across. Nicely detailed shot and some fine color.

Fantastic shot Momma! I guess no one stays in the little house anymore either. I bet it was something to see when a boat passed this way.
