NOTE: THIS IMAGE IS NOT TO BE POSTED OR USED ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE. Although not the best of the images I took, this is my favorite from a recent trip to Ohio that took me through Amish country. This cute little Amish boy has spotted me taking his picture even though I was quite far away using a telephoto lens. I like his mischievous grin. As I drove by the buggy to leave the parking lot, he sneaked in a shy little wave. Notice the “dashboard” inside the buggy with what looks like a set of keys hanging from it and some switches. No, it’s not an ignition switch. Ha! I believe these are for lights for night driving. Amish life-so simple and serene.

Looks like a typical "one horse town," Owd Momma. They do have a lot of battery powered running lights.
Cool shot.

Think the boy smiles about your behavior. So, I'm curious what you did, Momma, lol.

Nice post, Pat!

Yeh, they need those lights to go Froggin.

The boy was trying to wave you down to get a ride out of town.

Just Kidding of Course. The World would probably be a better place with more people like them in it.

Good Snap!

It's always good seeing the Amish, I know they don't like being photographed but that young boy doesn't seem to mind. It surprises me that the buggy has electric lights, thanks Pat for sharing this upload with us.

I took a train trip last year and ended up befriending an Amish young man. It was one of the best trips I've ever taken. He had so many interesting stories to tell. I loved learning a bit more about their way of life.
